Mistaken Identity

I’m not sure what to say about this one. It’s just mind-boggling.

Two young women were involved, among others, in a traffic accident April 26 near Marion, IN. One girl died at the scene, the other was recovering in an intensive care unit with her family by her side.

As her recovery progressed, and the girl started communicating with people again, people quickly realized that things weren’t right.

This week, after some investigation, it was discovered that the girls had been mistaken for one another at the accident scene, and the girl whose family thought they were caring for at the hospital, was actually dead.

  • No, no, more back of the throat.
  • You mean, "Ooooo!" as in surprise and alarm?

  • No, I died while I was writing it.
  • Is that your zombie growl?

  • What are you talking about? I died years ago, but I still post pointlessly on the internet.

    Wait.

    Arghhhhhhhh....
  • Wow. That is pretty bad.

I'm hopeful these are isolated incidents. I get the impression that things like this aren't happening throughout the country.

  • Thanks! :)

Wow. Wow! My dad says that there was a case in Kentucky a while ago where the coroner examined a man and said there were "no unusual circumstances" for his death. Only thing is, when the undertakers came, they found he had been literally stabbed in the back, and the knife was still there!
  • Apparantly their are NO requirements for being county coroner in Indiana! He is an ex-Sheriff and has NO medical training to speak of!
I don't think he could spell DNA or read a dental X-ray! That being said, I understand that there was ID, purses, and wallets sprayed all over the accident site. The impact was that bad...

BTW, I have added you (Pauley) to my friends list.

Yikes. That really sucks for her family.
  • Click the link; photos are included. They do look an awful lot alike.

ETA: They're in color pics now, too...  they had black and white up earlier today.

Okay, unless they were, like, identical twins...I don't get it.
