Best “Saddam hangs” story title EVER…

…comes to us from the Russian newspaper Pravda: Saddam Hussein thrown in the garbage of history.

Meanwhile, some whack-job on NBC’s Orlando affiliate sees the whole scenario as less an execution and more an assassination.

Garbage just somehow sounds more appropriate than dustbin...in this case, at least.
  • Mayhaps, but in this case it was also a direct quote from an Iraqi interviewed in Baghdad, in the article itself.

"Now, he is in the garbage of history," said Jawad Abdul-Aziz, who lost his father, three brothers and 222 cousins in the reprisal killings that followed a botched 1982 assassination attempt against Saddam in the Shiite town of Dujail.

It's a take-off (and a very poor one)of Arnold Toynbee, said in a different context:
"Relegated to the dustbin of history..."
