Ask Me Weekend #5: Why Rochester?
Question: Why Rochester?
Answer: Because ________ (fill in the blanks)– Kirsten
Because I’m a masochist who likes subjecting myself to harsh winters and lake effect snow?
I’m in Rochester right now because that’s where my job is (a very good job, too), and it’s close to Toronto, which means I can see Yvonne a lot. I haven’t completely ruled out moving some day, but I wouldn’t consider going anywhere without having a job lined up first.

Hmmmm,
all very good points!
I was expecting you to say something along the lines of:
Location of all the major corporate research centers of Kodak, Mobil Chemical, Xerox etc…
Availability of cultural venues, beautiful and liveable suburbs, excellent educational facilities close by, very high standard of living, tremendously intelligent people living there, Sunny miles of pristine Lake Ontario Beaches, easy access to the finger lakes region, the cultural attractions of Ithaca, the Corning Works!, the Strong museums, the Kodak museums and institutions including the awesome music school! The camping and the skiing opportunities… Wegmans! Abbots! etc…

GAH! Abbott’s! How could I forget! Yvonne’d clobber me if I forgot Abbott’s.
Simply Crêpes and P.F. Changs (though that’s a national chain that could be found elsewhere) also make that list.
