Kid Nation - Episode 2

A few thoughts (now that I’ve had a chance to watch it) on last week’s Kid Nation episode

  • Greg really stepped up this episode, and wasn’t being a punk. People questioned motives, but who cares? The pioneers didn’t see his interview segment that he’s looking for college money. What’s the problem with that?
  • That said, he looks like he may be getting nasty again next week. So he didn’t win this week. There’s lots of show to go. Ease up a little, dude.
  • Sophia has a good head on her shoulders. She’s got no compunction about calling out the folks who aren’t pulling their weight (read: Taylor).
  • Speaking of Taylor… I recall Jonathan saying something first episode when he introduced the council: “nothing’s permanent.” I’d not be surprised to see her get replaced soon. Not sure what they have in mind for such an eventuality, whether they’d hold an election, or how they’d do it.
  • Emilie appears to have been raised to be a proper hippie, going all bonkers over the thought of the town killing chickens. “If you kill a chicken I’m going home.” See ya. You’ll be missed.
  • Also, she, Campbell and Savannah will be good Greenpeace drones when they grow up, hiding in the chicken coop.
  • Mmmmmm, chicken stew.
  • Excellent work by Michael to thaw the water pump. After such solid work two straight weeks, he was an easy choice for the second gold star.
  • “I’m sorry, you’re just gonna have to starve.” Ex-CUSE me?????

That’s all I’ve got for now. Tune in later this week for next week’s rundown.
