Kid Nation – Episode 4

Thoughts on episode 4 of Kid Nation:

  • Guylan’s first with the obvious point — religion (or lack thereof) isn’t anyone’s business but their own.
  • Uh oh. I smell a fight brewin’ at breakfast. Kid Nation’s first Crusade.
  • Interesting comparison of political parties to religions.
  • Nice job, Morgan. No mandates, just an informal get-together for anyone who’s interested, no matter your beliefs. That’s all you really need. Solid gold-star material there.
  • Hee! Jared makes me laugh. Such a sillyhead. “I meditate. Mmmmmmmmmm…”
  • Dammit. Yellow needs to get labor class and soon. Taylor needs to get punted off her high horse.
  • Interesting choice in making the reward a vote, and nice to see the kids seeking out information about other religions and cultures.
  • Dueling “awws”. Aww, poor Cody, but aww, he’s got a girlfriend. :-D
  • Once again, Yellow District slacks off.
  • Nice to see Lauren taking her to task. Equally, Taylor needs a dose of reality. That, or a boot in the ass.
  • Lauren called it before I could type it — Zach’s doing a better job as a leader than Taylor is. Of course she’s going to get defensive and call him “bossy.”
  • Greg seems to be a little bit more of a realist this week. He’s still eager for a star, but recognizes that he’s not the only one working for it, and that Zach’s earned the right too. I think he’s learning a lesson in humility that Taylor needs to pick up on.
  • That someone hasn’t hauled off and smacked Taylor yet is shocking to me. I’m just waiting for Jonathan to look at her with a complete “WTF???” look on his face.
  • OK, that was almost it. “You either have a very thick skin, or you just don’t listen!”
  • I think this departure is hitting the town harder than the last one. They barely knew Jimmy before he left, but Cody had made some friends who were clearly hurt to see him leave.
  • WTG Morgan! Clearly earned it.
  • Taylor didn’t seem to be clapping as much as the rest of the town at the end. Wonder if she realizes her stranglehold on her council seat may be slipping away.
  • “I got bogey.” What a clown. :-P
  • YES. Election day is nigh!

Tune in next week!
