The Politics of Parsing
Don’t get me wrong — I’m no fan of John Edwards. But his campaign put together an awesome video illustrating just how weaselly a politician Hillary Clinton is. It takes skill (and not in a good way) to give two (or more) different answers in the space of the same debate, sometimes in the same response.

No offense, but having not seen those particular debate/interviews, the evidence that there’s double-speak going on is kind of flimsy as although she’ll directly mention the subject in question in the first clip, Social Security for example, she does not directly mention the subject again in any of the subsequent clips with the dubious exception of the first. This could well be nothing more than a clever editing job, attributing a specific opinion to the wrong subject. That sort of think irks me.

Must not be a fan of Michael Moore’s movies either…
I wish there were more videos of alpha-geeks exclaiming that “200x will be the year of the Linux Desktop!” so that someone could put together a montage of them… I’m almost as sick of hearing that as I am of politicians!
