American Idol 1/23

Didn’t get home in time to liveblog this one, so it’s being posted in its entirety now that I’ve finished watching the episode via DVR.

  • Charleston, SC tonight. Accent prediction: high.
  • Ryan is fashionably late…
  • Second new weeble to be born on audition day? Not from a contestant, though, from one’s wife.
  • Raysharde’s fro has a life of its own, methinks…
  • The black Clay Aiken? Wha? Well, he’s got a voice… sounds a little weird, but I think he’d do well.
  • The next Kellie Pickler? She’s got a voice, too, but I’m less impressed with her than with Raysharde…
  • Awwwww… an Idol message board couple! :-P
  • I’d like to hear her sing by herself… the guy kinda sucks.
  • Apparently neither did well.
  • I beg to differ with Michelle… Jeffrey is no one’s “little” brother.
  • They’re good together… are they any good separately?
  • “I can’t split you two up!”
  • EWWWW EWWW EWWWWW OMG PLZ TO PUT ON SHRT
  • Amy reminds me, at least physically, of my friend Jami.
  • Nice, pretty voice. I’m not sure why Simon thinks she’s annoying…
  • “One week in LA and it will all change.” *snort*
  • London’s voice sounds really nice. I don’t know the song well enough to know if it was on key or not. The judges liked her, though.
  • Lyndsey the C-17 pilot sounds pretty good, too.
  • I don’t want to know what Ryan meant by “the big guns.” I can guess, but that’s just wrong.
  • Aretha has voice, but she’s a little out of key.
  • Joshua sounds like an animal in pain.
  • “Well, I haven’t even had any voice training or anything…” It shows.
  • Awwwwwww. Emma’s a cutie!
  • Oliver’s got a voice, but the vibrato is bugging me a little. He’ll do okay, I think…
  • …or not.
  • “…and we’ll be seeing her in 15 years.” “Only if you’re still here, Simon…”

…and that’s where the DVR cut off. Dunno what city’s next week. But I’ll be here.
