Ask Me Weekend #9.1

(Yes, I’m behind on American Idol posts. Yes, I plan to do at least one tonight. Yes, this is a blatant attempt to get a Project52 post in before midnight just in case.)

I haven’t done this in a while, and the last one met with a resounding thud, but we’re gonna try it again.

Ask me a question (or several) in the comments. I’ll answer them either all together in one entry later on in the next few days, or possibly in their own entries if they need that depth of answer.

Ask Me Weekend #9

I haven’t done this in a while, and the blog has been completely American Idol for the last few months. So this weekend, we’re opening it up.

Leave a comment here with a question or topic you want me to write a post about this weekend. I can’t promise (as has been evidenced by previous weekends) that I’ll have the post up by the end of the weekend, but I’ll get it put together as soon as I can. Any question is fair game, subject to my personal judgement on privacy, vulgarity and/or bad taste.

Ask away!

EDIT: Well, that met with a resounding thud. Maybe we’ll try again next weekend.

Ask Me Weekend #8: The Green Card Marriage (that technically wasn’t)

Immigration status update? :)

AtlantiCat

Having been 12 weeks (tomorrow) since we got married, we’re pretty sure the 10-12 weeks it takes to register a marriage in Ontario has passed, so we can pretty safely apply for copies of our marriage certificate this weekend, which is one of the many pieces of paper we need to file to have Yvonne start to move to the states.  If you’re familiar at all with the K-3 visa process, that’s what’s coming up next.

Ask Me Weekend #8

I wanted to try to get one of these in during NaBloPoMo. Ask me a question or leave a topic in the comments; as long as you’re not a tool about it, I’ll write a new post with an answer to your comment. With luck, the answer will be posted sometime this weekend, though with my past record on this, that can’t completely be promised. :-P

Ask Me Weekend #7: Turn on the tube

Wait am I too late? Bugger, well I’m asking anyway!

What new or returning TV show are you most looking forward too?

Wolfman-K

Nope, not too late.  I was looking forward to Heroes, Terminator, NCIS and The Unit, along with The Big Bang Theory, How I Met your Mother and The Amazing Race, and am looking forward to 24 and Lost coming back in January. As far as new shows, I’m liking Fringe, Gary Unmarried and Knight Rider so far.

One show I was looking forward to returning was Cane, starring Jimmy Smits. Didn’t find out until a week or two ago that it got cancelled back in May. :(

Ask Me Weekend #7: Dodging the question

Why do an ask me weekend if your not going to answer? ;)

– K4

It wasn’t intentional. Got a little behind on the Internets. I’m tryin’, here! :)

Ask Me Weekend #7: Money, money… yeah, yeah…

So now that you are married, who’s going to control the finances? :)

– k4

Since we’re in different countries for a while, keeping our existing separate finances makes the most sense. This is something else that’ll be revisited when we’re both living in one country.

Ask Me Weekend #7: Priorities

Now that you are married, do you notice any differences in the way you think, feel, or care about anything that was important to you as a non-married man?

– Matt F.

It’s weird, really.  It should feel different, but it doesn’t yet, in large part because, due to the immigration process, we don’t yet live together. No doubt things’ll change when she does. Ask me again then. :)

Ask Me Weekend #7

It’s that time again! Let’s see if anyone’s paying attention.

Ask me a question you’d like me to answer in its own blog post. You’ve got all weekend to post, and as long as you don’t post something extremely stupid and offensive (in my sole judgment – don’t worry, no question posted for Ask Me Weekend has yet earned that label), I’ll write an answer for ya.

Have at it!

Ask Me Weekend #6: We Come From the Land of the Ice and Snow…

When are you going to get tired of the frozen north and take the soon-to-be-spouce [sic] of yours to live in a nice warm climate?

K4

No time soon. Short of us moving to our respective countries’ instances of Niagara Falls, we’re in the best places to be for now as far as being able to see each other prior to and after the wedding (there’s an obnoxiously long process around that that can’t get started until we get married — long story). But we have talked a little about finding our way west at some point, perhaps to San Francisco.

———

Not much traffic on this one this week (though I’ll still answer items that trickle in), maybe we’ll play again next week. Bring your questions!
